Winner of the 2024 President’s Award for Outstanding Contribution
The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) has announced Kevin Brady MSCSI MRICS as the recipient of the 2024 President’s Award for Outstanding Contribution, the highest honour bestowed on an individual by the Society. On behalf of colleagues across the profession, we extend our warmest congratulations to Kevin on this richly deserved recognition.
The President’s Award celebrates exceptional leadership and acknowledges individuals who have made a sustained and meaningful impact on the built environment profession through voluntary service, expertise and commitment. Kevin’s contribution exemplifies the very spirit of this Award.
As Director of APNA, Kevin has consistently demonstrated leadership that goes beyond his professional role, giving generously of his time and expertise to support the SCSI and the wider surveying profession. Over many years, he has been deeply involved in advancing standards, shaping policy and providing trusted guidance on issues of national importance.
Kevin has served with distinction as Chair of his Professional Group Committee, helping to guide strategic priorities and ensuring members’ voices were heard. One of his most significant contributions has been leading the working group on the House Rebuild Costs and Calculator—a vital resource that is now relied upon by insurers, homeowners and professionals across Ireland. This work has brought clarity, consistency and confidence at a time of significant cost volatility in the construction sector.
He also played a leading role in the publication of the Defective Concrete Block report, a piece of work that has had far-reaching implications. The report has provided critical evidence and professional insight to support affected families, while also informing Government policy and decision-making during an extremely challenging period for many homeowners.
These achievements represent only a portion of Kevin’s contribution. Through his dedication to reports, working groups, events and mentorship, he has consistently placed the public interest and the advancement of the profession at the forefront of his efforts.
The SCSI President’s Award recognises not just excellence, but service—and Kevin Brady’s career is a testament to both. His leadership, integrity and commitment continue to have a lasting positive impact on the built environment profession in Ireland.
